Competition
On February 22, 2025, teams competed to provide solutions for Rural Maternal Workforce Shortage & Health Technologies.

This years event was held in person at Raytheon Amphitheater, Northeastern University. ​

The Spring 2025 competition was sponsored by Northeastern's John Martinson Honors Program, Northeastern's College of Science, Northeastern's Bouvé College of Health Sciences, and Massachusetts eHealth Institute.

MaterniCheck is a remote, eco-friendly urinalysis kit that enables at-home detection of pregnancy complications like preeclampsia and gestational diabetes. With a biodegradable test strip and smartphone app for secure result uploads, it reduces clinic visits while ensuring timely care. Designed for Medicaid reimbursement and pharmacy distribution, MaterniCheck offers a scalable, cost-effective solution to improve maternal health outcomes.
Second Place

HappyStart improves maternal healthcare in rural Oklahoma by providing free prenatal and postpartum care through mobile units equipped with Telehealth technology. Partnering with OSU, the clinics connect patients to obstetric professionals in real time. Staffed by trained medical professionals, they address pre-existing conditions, substance abuse, and postpartum depression. Funded by grants and sponsorships, HappyStart reduces care delays and improves accessibility for healthier pregnancies and brighter futures.

As COO of Mother of Fact, she integrates evidence-based nutrition care into healthcare systems, expanding medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to improve reproductive, maternal, and metabolic health. With expertise in law and operations, she advances patient-centered solutions, addressing systemic inequities and promoting nutrition as preventive healthcare.
